英语教学法简介--任务型教学法
一、任务型教学法及其产生的时代背景以任务为中心的语言教学思路(The Task一oriented Approach)是近20年来语言交际教学思路(Communicative Approach)的一种发展形态。它把语言应用的基本理念转化为具有实践意义的课堂教学方式。
长期以来,在外语教学界,人们一直在试图寻找一种最佳教学法。外语教学是一个非常复杂,多变项交互影响的过程,使得外语教学中难于寻求出一种最佳的教学方法,教师在课堂上教什么并不就等于学生学到了什么。教师在外语课堂教学中的主要作用是如何为学生创造一种有利于外语习得的条件。因此,对于外语教学中语言交际任务的研究是目前第二语言习得和课堂教学研究的一个热点。在过去的近20年中,不少应用语言学家从不同角度对交际学习任务进行了深入的理论探讨和实证研究。
近期,在我国的基础教育阶段的外语教学中,对以任务为中心的语言教学思路开始给予了足够的关注,对学习任务的研究和设计,以及在教材开发和课堂教学中的应用也日趋广泛。任务在英语教学中的应用,已逐渐成为中小学英语教学的主流。教育部新版的英语课程标准(实验稿)中教学建议部分强调:倡导"任务型"的教学途径,培养学生综合语言运用能力。要求教师依据课程的总体目标并结合教学内容,创造性地设计贴近学生实际的教学活动,吸引和组织他们积极参与。学生通过思考、调查、讨论、交流和合作等方式,学习和使用英语,完成学习任务。
二、理论基础
任务教学的理论基础可以溯源于已对基础教育产生深刻影响的认知心理学说。认知理论认为:人的认知活动不能离开实践,人类所创造的知识都来源于人的直接经验,但作为人的个体又不能事事亲身经验,这就依赖于社会交际。学校教学主要是传授人类已经创造的'知识和经验。在语言教学,尤其是第二语言或外语教学中,这一点就表现得十分清楚。学生学习英语,不可能像幼儿跟母亲学习母语那样生活在所学语言的环境中,直接接触信息源。在课堂里学习英语,是教师把前人在教学中总结出来的知识和经验通过教材、教具和一定的教学活动传递给学生,并组织师生共同参与的活动,帮助学生掌握。
所谓"任务",指的是"做事"。在做事的过程中,让学生始终处于一种积极的、主动的学习心理状态.学生之间的交际过程也是一种互动的过程。在完成任务的进程中,学生以"意义"为中心,尽力调动各种语言的和非语言的资源进行"意义"共建,以达到解决某种交际问题的目的。完成任务的过程催化了学生自然的和意义的语言应用,营造了一个有利于学习者语言习得和内化的支持环境。
三、基本特点
多年来对外语教学中交际学习任务的讨论和研究并没有对交际学习任务有一致的定义,但是庞继贤教授在为David Nunan《交际课堂的任务设计》一书写的导读中表明:任务作为课堂教学的一种活动至少应具备以下的特点:
1、以意义为中心,而不是以操练某种意义不大、甚至是无意义的语言形式为目的。
2、任务的焦点是解决某一交际问题,这一交际问题必须与现实世界有着某种联系。这种联系不应是笼统的或是现实世界中某种活动的翻版,而应是具体的,贴近学生生活、学习经历和社实
际,能引起学生的共鸣和兴趣,激发学生积极参与的欲望。3、任务的设计和执行应注意任务的完成,即交际问题的解决。任务完成的结果是评估任务是否成功的标志。
把以任务为中心的语言教学思路应用到儿童学习语言的课堂上,教师应该以教学目标为依据,结合教学内容创设贴近学生实际的围绕主题活动展开的各种教学活动,吸引和组织学生积极投入、主动参与,让学生通过学习、思考、体验、使用英语,完成学习任务。教师在设计、组织教学活动时应该注意:
1、活动要有明确的目的,注重学生学习、思考、体验的语言习得过程并具有可操作性。
2、活动要符合儿童的心理特征和认知规律,考虑到他们的学习发展区。
3、活动要有利于语言知识的学习和语言综合技能的提高,同时使学生的思维能力得到发展。
4、活动要以学生的生活经验或生活实际为出发点,以意义为中心,引导学生从语言知识的涉入向语言的实际使用过渡。
四、评析
任务型教学法是近20年来兴起的一种新型外语教学法。
它既重视语言的交际功能和社会价值,又重视语句的结构和学生的认知图式。目前,越来越多的外语教学工作者已经将其应用到外语教学中,并积累了一定的经验。
