This week in my college English class, we focused on improving our speaking skills. Our professor encouraged us to participate more actively in class discussions and group activities. I was a bit nervous at first, as I'm not the most confident speaker, but I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and tried to contribute as much as possible.
One of the activities that I found particularly helpful was the group debate we had on a current social issue. My group was assigned the topic of climate change, and we had to argue for or against implementing stricter environmental policies. It was challenging to think on my feet and respond to counterarguments from the opposing side, but I felt a sense of accomplishment when I was able to articulate my points clearly and persuasively.
In addition to the group activities, we also practiced giving impromptu speeches on various topics. This was a great exercise in thinking quickly and organizing my thoughts on the spot. I stumbled a few times and had to pause to gather my thoughts, but with each practice session, I felt more comfortable speaking off the cuff.
Overall, I feel like my speaking skills have improved significantly over the course of this week. I still have a long way to go, but I'm proud of myself for taking risks and putting myself out there. I know that the more I practice and push myself, the more confident I will become in expressing myself in English.

This week in my college English class, we focused on enhancing our writing skills. We were assigned a series of writing tasks, ranging from short essays to creative writing pieces. One of the assignments that I enjoyed the most was the creative writing prompt we were given. We had to write a short story based on a picture that our professor showed us in class. I was inspired by the image of a lone figure standing on a cliff overlooking a vast ocean, and I crafted a story about a young woman who embarks on a journey of self-discovery and adventure. It was liberating to let my imagination run wild and create a world of my own through words.
In addition to the creative writing assignment, we also worked on improving our essay writing skills. We practiced structuring our arguments logically, providing evidence to support our claims, and using clear and concise language. I struggled with organizing my thoughts at first, but with the feedback and guidance from my professor, I was able to refine my writing and make my arguments more coherent.
By the end of the week, I felt more confident in my writing abilities. I realized that writing is not just about putting words on a page, but about conveying my ideas in a way that is engaging and persuasive. I know that I still have a lot to learn, but I am excited to continue honing my writing skills throughout the semester.
