Title: The Power of Words
Good morning everyone,
Today, I would like to talk to you about the power of words. As an English speaker, I believe that words are not just a means of communication, but they have the power to shape our thoughts, actions, and relationships.
Firstly, words have the power to inspire and motivate. Throughout history, great leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr., Winston Churchill, and Nelson Mandela have used their words to ignite change and inspire millions of people. Their speeches not only moved people emotionally but also motivated them to take action and work towards a better future.
Moreover, words have the power to heal and comfort. In times of distress, a few kind and comforting words can make all the difference. Whether it is a friend going through a tough time or a stranger in need of support, our words can provide solace and give them the strength to overcome their challenges.
Furthermore, words have the power to educate and enlighten. The written and spoken word has been the primary medium for sharing knowledge and ideas throughout human history. Books, lectures, and speeches have the power to educate and enlighten us, expanding our horizons and broadening our understanding of the world.
However, it is important to remember that words can also be destructive. They have the power to hurt, divide, and spread hate. We have witnessed how hateful words can lead to discrimination, violence, and even wars. It is crucial that we use our words responsibly and with empathy, considering the impact they can have on others.
In conclusion, the power of words is undeniable. They have the ability to inspire, heal, educate, and divide. As English speakers, we have the privilege of using this powerful tool. Let us use our words wisely, spreading positivity, understanding, and compassion. Together, we can create a world where our words empower and unite us rather than divide us.
Thank you for listening.

Title: The Importance of Cultural Exchange
Ladies and gentlemen,
Today, I want to discuss the importance of cultural exchange in our increasingly interconnected world. Cultural exchange refers to the sharing and understanding of different cultures, traditions, and perspectives. It plays a crucial role in promoting tolerance, understanding, and peace among nations.
Firstly, cultural exchange fosters mutual respect and understanding. When we engage in cultural exchange, we have the opportunity to learn about different customs, traditions, and ways of life. This exposure helps us develop a broader perspective and appreciation for diversity. It breaks down stereotypes and promotes empathy, as we realize that despite our differences, we share common values and aspirations.
Moreover, cultural exchange promotes economic growth and development. As we learn about different cultures, we also discover new ideas, practices, and products. This exchange of knowledge and innovation leads to economic cooperation, trade, and investment opportunities. By embracing diversity, we can tap into the collective wisdom of different cultures, driving economic progress for all.
Furthermore, cultural exchange contributes to personal growth and self-discovery. When we immerse ourselves in a different culture, we step out of our comfort zones and challenge our preconceived notions. This experience helps us develop a sense of adaptability, open-mindedness, and resilience. We become more self-aware and gain a deeper understanding of our own identity and values.
However, cultural exchange is not without its challenges. It requires open-mindedness, respect, and a willingness to embrace new ideas. It also involves addressing power imbalances and ensuring that cultural exchange is a two-way street, with equal opportunities for all participants.
In conclusion, cultural exchange is vital for fostering mutual respect, economic growth, and personal development. It brings people from different backgrounds together, promoting understanding, tolerance, and peace. Let us embrace cultural exchange and celebrate the richness and diversity of our world.
Thank you for your attention.

篇二:如果时间能倒回
If I were a boy again, I would practice perseverance(毅力)more often, and never give up a thing because it was hard or inconvenient. If we want light, we must conquer darkness. Perseverance can sometimes equal genius in its results. “There are only two creatures,” says a proverb, “who can surmount the pyramids—the eagle and the snail.”
If I were a boy again, I would school myself into a habit of attention; I would let nothing come between me and the subject in hand. I would remember that a good skater never tries to skate in two directions at once. The habit of attention becomes part of our life, if we begin early enough. I often hear grown-up people say “I could not fix my attention on the lecture or book, although I wished to do so” , and the reason is, the habit was not formed in youth.
If I were to live my life over again, I would pay more attention to the cultivation of the memory. I would strengthen that faculty by every possible means, and on every possible occasion. It takes a little hard work at first to remember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very little trouble. It only needs early cultivation to become a power.
If I were a boy again, I would look on the cheerful side. Life is very much like a mirror: if you smile upon it, I smile back upon you; but if you frown and look doubtful on it, you will get a similar look in return.
Inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but of all that come in contact with it. “who shuts love out ,in turn shall be shut out from love.”
Finally, instead of trying hard to be happy, as if that were the sole purpose of life, I would, if I were a boy again, I would still try harder to make others happy.
篇三:诚实的价值
Ladies and Gentlemen: My topic is Honesty.
As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story.
65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure.
In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his
family had to leave. On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth. He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 2002, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome.
When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.
Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let’s be honest people of good moral character.
