英语童话:AStory一个故事 篇一
Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom, there lived a young princess named Lily. She was known throughout the land for her kindness and compassion towards all creatures, big and small. One day, as she was taking a walk in the royal gardens, she stumbled upon a wounded bird.
Feeling sorry for the poor creature, Lily gently picked up the bird and brought it back to the palace. She nursed it back to health, feeding it and keeping it warm. As days went by, the bird grew stronger and soon was able to fly again. The princess was overjoyed to see the bird soar into the sky, its wings glistening in the sunlight.
But to her surprise, the bird didn't fly away. Instead, it perched on a branch nearby and began to sing the most beautiful melody Lily had ever heard. The princess was entranced by the bird's song, feeling a sense of peace and joy wash over her.
From that day on, the bird became Lily's constant companion, following her wherever she went. Its sweet song brought happiness to all who heard it, and the kingdom flourished under the princess's benevolent rule. And so, the legend of Princess Lily and her singing bird spread far and wide, inspiring all who heard it to be kind and compassionate to others.
And though many years have passed since that fateful day, the memory of Princess Lily and her beloved bird lives on in the hearts of all who believe in the power of love and kindness.

In the mystical land of Enchantia, there was a young boy named Jack who dreamed of becoming a great wizard. Despite his humble beginnings as the son of a farmer, Jack possessed a natural talent for magic that set him apart from his peers.
One day, a wise old wizard named Merlin came to the village and took Jack under his wing. He taught the boy the secrets of the arcane arts, guiding him on a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. Under Merlin's tutelage, Jack's powers grew stronger with each passing day, until he was able to perform feats of magic that left all who witnessed them in awe.
But as Jack's abilities grew, so did his ego. He began to believe that he was invincible, using his powers to impress others and gain fame and fortune. Merlin warned him of the dangers of hubris, but Jack ignored his mentor's advice, convinced that he knew better.
One fateful day, Jack's arrogance led him to cast a spell that went awry, unleashing a dark force that threatened to consume the entire kingdom. Realizing the error of his ways, Jack sought out Merlin for help, humbly asking for forgiveness and guidance.
Together, Jack and Merlin worked to undo the damage caused by the spell, using their combined powers to banish the darkness and restore peace to Enchantia. Through this harrowing experience, Jack learned the true meaning of humility and the importance of using his powers for good.
And so, Jack became known as the greatest wizard in all of Enchantia, not for his impressive feats of magic, but for his compassion, wisdom, and willingness to learn from his mistakes. And his story became a cautionary tale for all who dared to tread the path of magic, reminding them that true power comes not from spells and incantations, but from the heart.

英语童话:AStory一个故事
all the apple trees in the garden were blooming. they had hastened to cover themselves with blossoms before their green leaves were fully unfolded. all the ducklings were in the farmyard, and so was the cat; it basked in the sun and tried to lick the sunshine from its own paws.
and to look across the fields was a pleasing sight; there stood the corn, so beautifully green, while all the small birds chirped and twittered as happily as if they were having a great holiday.
and, indeed, people could rightly think of this as a holiday, for it was sunday. the bells were chiming while people in their best clothes were walking to church and looking so cheerful. it was such a bright, warm day that one might well say: "how good god is to grant us so many blessings!"
but inside the church the preacher in the pulpit spoke in a loud and angry tone; he said that all humans were wicked and that god would certainly punish them by sending them to the eternal torments of hell when they died. he said that they would never find peace or rest in hell, for their consciences would never die nor would the fires ever be extinguished.
this was terrible to hear, but still he went on as if the subject he was explaining were really true. he described hell to them as a stagnant cave, where all the impure and sinful of the world would be; there would be no air, only the hot sulphur flames, and no bottom there, and the wicked would sink deeper and deeper into eternal silence forever!
it was horrible to hear this, but the preacher spoke from his heart, and all the people in the church were terrified.
