One day, Sima Guang was appointed as the minister of the Board of Revenue, where he was responsible for managing the country's finances.

One day, Sima Guang discovered that there was a corrupt official who was embezzling money from the government. This official had been stealing money for years, and no one had been able to catch him. Sima Guang was determined to put an end to this corruption, so he devised a plan.

He called the official to his office and presented him with a large ceramic jar filled with coins. Sima Guang told the official that the jar contained the entire year's revenue for the government, and that he trusted the official to take care of it. The official was overjoyed at the opportunity to steal even more money, and he eagerly accepted the jar.

However, when the official tried to move the jar, he found that it was too heavy to lift. He realized that Sima Guang had tricked him, and that the jar was actually filled with rocks. Enraged, the official demanded an explanation from Sima Guang.

Sima Guang calmly replied, "If you cannot even lift a jar of rocks, how can I trust you to manage the country's finances? You have been caught red-handed in your corruption, and you will be punished accordingly."

The official was arrested and sentenced to prison for his crimes. Sima Guang's reputation as a just and honorable minister only grew, and he was praised for his clever tactics in exposing corruption.

This story of Sima Guang smashing the jar of rocks has been passed down through generations as a symbol of honesty and integrity in government. It serves as a reminder that those in positions of power must always act with honesty and fairness, and that corruption will eventually be exposed and punished.
