Unit7 How much arethese pants? Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. It’s my honor to share my lesson plan presentation. My name isXX, a junior student from English department. I’m in class 3. My class will last 45 minutes and I will use pair work, multi-media, learning and practicing as my teaching methods. My lesson plan presentation will be pided into 5 parts. They are: Part A: the analysis of the teaching materials. Part B: the analysis of the students. Part C: the learning goals. Part D: the language focuses and anticipated difficulties. Part E: teaching procedure. First, I will start from the analysis of teaching materials. My material is from text book for middle school students , grade 1 Book2, section A, Unit 7. How much are these pants? The section will focus on talking about clothing, how to ask price and how to thank someone in English. It is suitable for the students’ English level and their characteristic. What’s more,It will help students to strengthen what they have learnt before. Second , the analysis of the students. They are middle school students in grade 1, whose age are arrange 12 to 14. they are full of curiosity and thirst for everything. Now, they are developing the ability to go shopping alone. Before the unit, the students have learnt the color and the numbers. In this unit, students will learn the names of different clothes, how to ask price and how to thank someone in English. Third, the teaching goals ,I pided them into two parts. a. Knowledge and language by the end of this lesson, the students have known a new sentence structure “ how much is it “ and “ how much are they “, and they will know the name of different kinds of clothes in English . b. Emotion and skill. By the end of this lesson, the students have improved their ability of communication. They could ask the price and thank someone in English politely. What’s more, they could ask the price or thank someone in shopping mall or public . Forth, the language focuses and the anticipated difficulties. This unit will focus on how to ask price ,thank someone,and talk about clothing in english. The key point, the name of the different kinds of clothes. Sweater, skirt, pants, socks, shoes, T-shirt. The difficult point, 1. How much is it? And its answer: It is …. 2. How much are they? And its answer, they are….. 3. Thank you. And it’s answer: You are welcome. 4. Can I help you, 5. here you are. The last part, teaching procedure which is the most important part and i will pide them into five steps. Step 1. Warming up. Step 2. Learning about section A unit 7. Step 3. Exercise. Step 4. Time for questions. Step 5. Homework. Step 1. Warming up a. Morning report The student who is on duty will talk about “what day is it today”,the weather condition, what subjects they will have ,how mang students in class and who is absent. In this way, each student has a chance to speak English in public that could help them to improve their oral English. b. Dictate an English song << big big world>> which is suitable for their english level and then the students will exchange the paper to help me to check it . The omit words are big, me, yellow, first, have to, end. By the end of this period, the student could improve their listening ability. I have given them this song before the class, so it can force the students to recite English.This period will last 8 minutes. Step 2. Learning about section A unit 7 First, I will teach the students to read the new words 3 times. Next, I will give the students 1 minute to remember the meaning of the new words. After it, the students have to match the words with things in the pictures, and then they will read after me again. Second, pair work. According to the section A 1c, the students should practice the conversation ,then make their own conversations to remember the new sentences, I think 3 or 4 group will be ok. Third, I will give students 4 sentences, they are 1. How much is that red sweater? 2. How much is this yellow shirt? 3. how much is the blue bag? 4. how much are those shoes? And then I will ask students to try to conclude the main point by themselves, after the discuss I will tell them the answer, and analyze the meaning and the using way. Forth, I will ask students to do the the pair work, thinking about he or she were buyer,if they want to buy something what they should say,the new phases are (I want to have…, excuse me, how much…) , and then I will ask students to think if he or she were seller, what they could do to help the customer. The phases are (what can I do for you? Here you are. Thank you, you are welcome ) . this part will last 25 minutes. Step 3. Do exercise According to what they have learnt today, I will give the students 3 exercise and ask them finish in class and hand in: 1. Exercise A,3 choices. Find out the word which does not belong to the same category 2. Exercise B, 2 choices. If time permitting, they will finish exercise C .arrange the order of the dialogue, if not, they will finish it as homework. It will last 7 minutes by the end of this period, the students would strengthen what they have learnt today. Step 4. Time for questions If the students have some questions, they can ask me for help, by the end of this period, the students would strengthen what they have learnt today. It will last for 4 minutes. Step 5. Homework I will ask the students to review what they have learnt, preview the 3a, 2c, 4, and finish the exercise book P67. What’s more ,they should listen to a new english song <<no matter what>>. Thank you for you listening, that is all my lesson plan presentation.
