《Pride and Prejudice》
《傲慢与偏见》
《Pride and Prejudice》is a classic novel written by Jane Austen. Set in the early 19th century, it tells the story of Elizabeth Bennet, a witty and independent young woman, and her journey to find love and happiness amidst societal expectations and prejudices.
One of the main themes in the novel is the role of social class and wealth in relationships. The Bennet family, with five daughters but no male heir, is financially dependent on finding suitable husbands for their daughters. This puts pressure on the girls to marry well and secure their family's future. However, Elizabeth refuses to marry for convenience and is determined to marry for love. This is evident in her rejection of Mr. Collins, a wealthy but pompous clergyman, and her eventual acceptance of Mr. Darcy, a wealthy landowner who initially appears arrogant and proud.
Another theme in the novel is the importance of first impressions and how they can be misleading. Elizabeth's initial prejudice against Mr. Darcy is based on her perception of his arrogance and snobbishness. However, as she gets to know him better, she realizes that her judgment was wrong and that he is a kind and honorable man. This theme teaches us not to judge others based solely on our first impressions, as they may be deceiving.
The novel also explores the role of women in society during the time period. Elizabeth is portrayed as an intelligent and strong-willed woman who challenges the expectations placed upon her by society. She refuses to conform to the traditional role of a woman and instead seeks a partner who will respect and appreciate her for who she is. This progressive portrayal of women was groundbreaking for its time and continues to inspire readers today.
Overall,《Pride and Prejudice》is a timeless novel that delves into themes of love, marriage, social class, and the role of women in society. Jane Austen's masterful storytelling and memorable characters make this novel a must-read for anyone interested in English literature. It serves as a reminder that true love transcends societal expectations and that our prejudices can often prevent us from finding happiness.

《To Kill a Mockingbird》
《杀死一只知更鸟》
《To Kill a Mockingbird》is a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel written by Harper Lee. Set in the 1930s in a small town in Alabama, it explores themes of racial inequality, injustice, and the loss of innocence.
The story is narrated by Scout Finch, a young girl who grows up witnessing the racial tensions and prejudices in her community. Her father, Atticus Finch, is a lawyer who defends Tom Robinson, a black man falsely accused of raping a white woman. Through Scout's eyes, we see the injustice and racism prevalent in society, as well as the courage and integrity of those who stand up against it.
One of the main themes in the novel is the destructive nature of prejudice. The town's white community, driven by fear and ignorance, condemns Tom Robinson solely based on his race. Despite overwhelming evidence of his innocence, the jury still convicts him. This injustice serves as a powerful commentary on the deep-rooted racism that existed during that time period and continues to resonate with readers today.
Another theme explored in the novel is the loss of innocence. Scout and her brother, Jem, start the story with an innocent and naive view of the world. However, as they witness the trial and its aftermath, they are confronted with the harsh realities of prejudice and injustice. This loss of innocence is a significant turning point in their lives and shapes their understanding of the world.
The character of Boo Radley, a reclusive neighbor, also serves as a symbol of innocence and compassion. Initially feared and misunderstood by the community, Boo eventually saves Scout and Jem from a violent attack. This act of kindness reveals that appearances can be deceiving and that true bravery and goodness can be found in unexpected places.
《To Kill a Mockingbird》is a powerful and thought-provoking novel that addresses important social issues such as racism and injustice. Harper Lee's writing is both engaging and poignant, capturing the reader's attention from start to finish. The novel's enduring message of empathy, compassion, and the fight against prejudice continues to make it a relevant and timeless piece of literature.

Today, I read "eternal eyes" and "if I give me three days of light" I think that though man is dead cant be reborn. But the perfect organ can be passed down, and our organs can live, and we can experience a new life. In this way, our death is meaningful. Some people say to them, but after the death of the body but to the crematorium. At the end of the day, there was no meaning. Not only missed them, even good organs also wasted. If I die, I will donate my perfect organs to those who need help. As long as they are happy, I will be happy, too.
If you give me three days of light, this article tells me: Helen Kellers concern for health and the desire for a pair of perfect eyes are very strong. Although he was unfortunate to lose sight and hearing, his understanding of life was far more than ordinary people. A blind man and a deaf man have become a famous writer! Helen Kellers life is full of courage and strength. We should learn from him and learn the spirit that he is brave enough to face difficulties and challenges, and this spirit will be passed on forever. Let the spirit of Helen Keller record a glorious history.
Yes! People tend to be like this: things that have something no longer cherish, things that do not have to pursue. Maybe we should put the external things a little bearish, think now happy wonderfull life, think today is the last day of life, that day will be a wonderful crosssubstantially.
Finally, I would like to answer Helen Kellers question: if I have only three days of light, I will let my eyes look at the beautiful world. The three days of this precious day will be the best memories of my life.
