My Pen Pal
I am thrilled to have a pen pal from a different country. His name is David and he is from the United States. We became pen pals last year when our English teacher organized a pen pal exchange program. Since then, we have been writing letters to each other and learning about each other's cultures.
David and I have a lot in common. We are both interested in sports, especially basketball. We often exchange stories about our favorite teams and players. David supports the Los Angeles Lakers, while I am a fan of the Chicago Bulls. We often debate about which team is better, but it's all in good fun.
Apart from sports, we also share our experiences of school and daily life. David tells me about his American school system and the different subjects he studies. I, in turn, share stories about my school in China and the subjects I enjoy the most. It's fascinating to see the similarities and differences between our education systems.
One of the highlights of having a pen pal is learning about each other's cultures. David has taught me a lot about American traditions and holidays. For example, he told me all about Thanksgiving and how families get together to have a big feast. In return, I have shared Chinese New Year traditions and the importance of family during this holiday.
Writing letters to David has greatly improved my English skills. I have learned new vocabulary and expressions from his letters. He often corrects my grammar mistakes and helps me improve my writing. It's like having a personal English tutor!
I am grateful to have David as my pen pal. Through our letters, I have learned so much about American culture and improved my English skills. I hope to meet him in person one day and continue our friendship beyond pen and paper.

Exploring Cultural Differences through Letters
Having a pen pal from a different country has been an eye-opening experience for me. My pen pal, Maria, is from Spain, and we have been exchanging letters for over a year now. Through our letters, we have explored and learned about each other's cultures.
One of the first things I noticed when corresponding with Maria was the difference in greetings. In Spain, it is common to greet someone with a kiss on each cheek. At first, I found it a bit strange, but now I understand that it is a friendly gesture to show affection and respect. In contrast, in my culture, we usually greet each other with a handshake or a wave.
Food is another aspect of culture that we have discussed extensively. Maria has introduced me to Spanish cuisine, such as paella and tapas. She explained the importance of sharing meals with family and friends in her culture. In return, I have shared recipes of traditional Chinese dishes, like dumplings and hot pot. It's fascinating to see how food plays a significant role in both our cultures.
We have also talked about our respective education systems. Maria told me about the siesta, a short nap taken after lunch, which is common in Spain. In China, we don't have a siesta, but we have a longer lunch break where students can rest and participate in extracurricular activities. It's interesting to compare and contrast the different approaches to education.
Celebrations and holidays are another area where we have discovered cultural differences. Maria has told me about the lively festivals in Spain, such as La Tomatina and Las Fallas. I have shared the traditions and customs of Chinese festivals like the Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival. It's incredible how different cultures have unique ways of celebrating and coming together as a community.
Through our letters, I have gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for Spanish culture. Maria has taught me about the importance of family, food, and traditions in her country. It has also been an opportunity for me to share my own culture and traditions with her.
Having a pen pal like Maria has broadened my horizons and given me a global perspective. It's amazing how two people from different parts of the world can connect and learn from each other. I am grateful for the opportunity to have a pen pal and explore cultural differences through our letters.

我的笔友英语作文 篇六
Since last summer, I have written to my pen pal, Seda, who lives in Turkey.
I became acquainted with her when I went to England for a study tour. We stayed with the same family, and she was my roommate and classmate as well. Sometimes we went to the movies together after dinner. Seda is very easy to get along with. I will always remember the two weeks I spent with her. We didn‘t forget each other and kept writing to each other after we returned home. Although I haven‘t seen her again since I left England, I still know how she is through letters, cards and photographs. Seda tells me her secrets and also shares her happiness and sadness with me .
Both of us hope that we will meet each other somewhere one day. Maybe I‘ll go to Turkey to visit her, or she‘ll come to Taiwan to visit me.
