　　大家早上好！今天我要演讲的题目是《快乐英语，快乐年华》！HappyEnglish，happytime!

　　五月是一个激情浪漫的季节，五月是一个奔放创意的季节。在这春和景绿、花香校园；书声琅琅、催人奋进的美好时节，我校“第二届英语文化节”从今天开始就正式拉开了帷幕。

　　大家知道，从二十世纪后期开始世界就进入了信息化时代，日新月异的高科技推动了经济的全球化及社会生活的信息化，国际间的经济合作和贸易往来更加密切和频繁，多元文化的“地球村”正在形成。空前大量的`信息潮水般的涌入各个领域，作为吸取和交流信息之工具的外语（主要是英语），对于个人来说，是在激烈竞争的社会中是生存的重要手段；对国家而言，已成为国际交往与国内发展必不可少的工具。学习和使用外语已成为千百万人名大众日常生活中不可缺少的一部分，据统计，目前世界上一半以上的人至少会说两种语言。

　　本次英语文化节，我们本着以HappyEnglish，happytime!(快乐英语，快乐年华！)为主题，以“展示自我，面向学生未来”为原则，积极倡导“生动活泼”学英语，“想说、敢说、能说”说英语，“动口、动脑、动手”用英语，通过英语文化节这个平台让语言教学真正走向生活，走向社会实际，让学生自发地、主动地学英语，在生活中轻松地活学活用英语，让每一位学生都爱上英语。本届英语文化节将历时二十天，为此，我们英语组经过科学筹划，精心打造安排了一些内容丰富、形式多样，能适合学生口味和特点的文化大餐来满足学生的不同需求，让同学们在英语的海洋里自由遨游、开阔视野、增长见识、发展能力。

　　同学们，你们是跨世纪的人才，你们是祖国明天的脊梁与希望，你们是二十一世纪国际间科技文化交流的使者，你们是创造地球财富的核心力量，因此，我真诚地希望你们趁着今天的大好时光努力学习外语，刻苦钻研外语，树立学好外语的信心，养成良好的学习习惯，探讨有效的学习策略，在全面地打好外语基础之外，还要注重素质教育，培养创新精神，发展自主学习的能力，认识了解中外文化差异，形成世界意识和健全的人格品质。
