1、曲调:曲调也称旋律。高低起伏的乐音按一定的节奏有秩序地横向组织起来,就形成曲调。曲调是音乐形式中最重要的表现手段,是音乐的本质,是音乐的决定性因素。曲调的进行方向是变幻无穷的,基本的进行方向有三种:“水平进行”、“上行”和“下行”。相同音的进行方向称水平进行;由低音向高音方向进行称上行;由高音向低音方向进行称下行。曲调的常见进行方式有:“同音反复”、“级进”和“跳进”。依音阶的相邻音进行称为级进,三度的跳进称小跳,四度和四度以上的跳进称大跳。
2、节奏:音乐的节奏是指音乐运动中音的长短和强弱。音乐的节奏常被比喻为音乐的骨架。节拍是音乐中的重拍和弱拍周期性地、有规律地重复进行。我国传统音乐称节拍为“板眼”,“板”相当于强拍;“眼”相当于次强拍(中眼)或弱拍。
