My First Day of School
Today was my first day of school and I was feeling both excited and nervous. I woke up early in the morning, brushed my teeth, and got dressed in my new school uniform. I had breakfast with my family and then we all headed to the school together.
When I arrived at the school, I saw many other students, just like me, standing outside the gate. Some were chatting with their friends, while others were nervously waiting with their parents. I waved goodbye to my parents and joined the line with the other students.
We were soon greeted by our homeroom teacher, Mr. Smith. He had a friendly smile on his face and welcomed us to the school. He then led us to our classroom, which was brightly decorated with colorful posters and charts.
In our first lesson, Mr. Smith asked us to introduce ourselves to the class. My heart was pounding as it was my turn to speak. I stood up and said, "Hello, my name is Emily. I am twelve years old and I am excited to be here." The class clapped and Mr. Smith gave me a thumbs up. I felt relieved and happy.
Throughout the day, we had different subjects like English, Math, and Science. I enjoyed learning new things and meeting new friends. During recess, I played games with my classmates and we laughed and had fun together.
At the end of the day, I felt a sense of accomplishment. I had survived my first day of school and it turned out to be better than I expected. I couldn't wait to go back the next day and continue my learning journey.

My Favorite Subject
In my first unit of the 7th-grade English textbook, I learned about different school subjects. Among all the subjects, my favorite one is Science.
I love Science because it allows me to explore and understand the world around me. It is like a door to endless possibilities and discoveries. In Science class, we learn about various topics such as the solar system, plants, animals, and the human body. I find it fascinating to learn about the different parts of the world and how they function.
One of my favorite Science experiments was when we learned about the water cycle. We created a mini water cycle in a bottle and observed how the water evaporated, condensed, and then fell back as rain. It was amazing to witness the natural process firsthand and understand how water cycles in our environment.
Another reason why I enjoy Science is that it involves hands-on activities and experiments. We get to work in groups, conduct experiments, and analyze the results. It is a fun and interactive way of learning, which makes the subject even more interesting.
Science also helps me develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It requires us to think logically, analyze data, and draw conclusions. These skills are not only important in Science but also in other areas of life. It enables me to approach challenges with a systematic and scientific mindset.
Moreover, Science class encourages creativity and innovation. We are often given the opportunity to come up with our own experiments and hypotheses. It allows us to think outside the box and explore different possibilities. This aspect of Science keeps me engaged and motivated to learn more.
In conclusion, Science is my favorite subject because it allows me to explore the world, conduct experiments, develop critical thinking skills, and foster creativity. I look forward to every Science class and the exciting discoveries that await me.
