On March 22 nd we had a reading competition in a high school. That day, I was very nervous about the competition. I thought and thought…..and I said to myself,Austin, don’t worry it will be fine. After a while, my mom took me to that high school.

When I got into the seat of the car, my stomach started to hurt, but I knew that sort of thing will happen all the time during a stressful event like a reading competition. Later, after a few hours had past, it was my turn to walk up to the stage and say my lines. But wait! I looked over and noticed the judge wasnt looking at me- it was if she didnt respect me! We learned how important eye contact is during our assembly.

After I finished, the guests gave me great praise. I thought I would have a good came the time to give out the certificates. When the person read Frobel ElementaryI thought it was me…..but it was my classmate Cindy. She had received second place. Then they read the first prize and I was disappointed it wasn’t me. I was very sad…… but……

I must tell everyone in here, when you go to a competition win or lose you shouldnt care. You should care about whether or not you did your best. You need to ask yourself- Did you learn anything for entering this competition? Do you have the courage to read a story to a huge audience?

这周星期五,也就是二零一四年的三月七日。我参加了由cctv主办的英语风采大赛。其中,笔试部分真是太难了。

一进大厅便是人山人海、“赛”人如织。挤都挤不过来。所以逼得我没办法,只好用参赛证和铅笔袋护着头,硬撞进去。好不容易排上队了,又被别人踩了好几脚,哎~我真倒霉啊!“啊!”我心想,“我得仔细听着工作人员有没有点到我的名字才行。”于是,我竖起耳朵仔细的听着。忽然我好像是听到自己的名字了,便急急忙忙挤了过去,到了前面,“哦,你就是高明睿。请抽签吧!”我随便从箱子里抽了一个号码牌,“二十二号!”我先是一愣,继而是叹了一口气,“二十二号,挺靠后的。”

过了一会儿,一个工作人员把我们这二十几个人全都领到了二楼一个教室里面。一共有两张卷子,一张是对你的英语学习情况进行了解 ,比如:你读英语报纸吗?A、经常B、偶尔C、只读过一次D、从未读过。让你选择并在A、B、C、D前面打对号。接着又发了第二张试卷儿,太难了。第一、二题是听力部分。第一题是他说一个句子让你选A、Yes,heisB、Yes,sheisC、Yes,theyis.第二题是他说一个故事,让你选试卷上面写得是对还是错。我们让工作人员放了五遍都没怎么听懂。

过了一会儿,我们把笔试做完后,开始静静地背诵我们准备的故事。然后,工作人员觉得A1组已经结束了,就把我们五人一组五人一组的带下去进行才艺表演。当你背诵完后(如果你还没背完就到时间了就会让你停住),外教就会给你提供一张照片并提问你一至三个问题,如果你答不上来,外教就会对你说:“thankyou.”

我在这十多年的生活中有许许多多“第一次”。第一次进校门、第一次学写字、第一次作文、第一次帮妈妈烧火做饭……而最让我难忘的

是“我第一次参加的英语口语竞赛xxx”。

那是在五年级的时候,老师说:“邢台市教委要举办‘少年英语口语大赛’。”参加竞赛是我梦寐以求的,于是第一个报了名。经过学区、市教委选拔,结果我朝思暮想的愿望实现了。

我高高兴兴的准备了讲演稿,又经老师修改了一番,便如饥似渴的演练起来。英语不同汉语那么好背,感情也不好表现,练了好几天,老师检验总是不合格,这次我真正体会到“台上一分钟,台下十年功”。经过几天的演练。终于,把她背了个滚瓜烂熟。好不容易等到了比赛的那一天,老师领着我们兴高采烈的奔赴邢台赛区。

进入赛场,我一看名单我在四十多号呢!心想还早呢,就在心里默默地背着稿子……转眼间,剩下几个人就轮到我了。就在我走上台的那一刹那,看到几十名参赛的学生和前排坐着的十几位评委,其中还有一个“老外”,蓦地心里多了几分紧张,就想揣着一只小兔子似的,“怦怦”直跳,只见老师在后面看我,从眼神中看得出是在鼓励我,给我加油!顿时,我有了胆量,我闭眼深吸一口气,轻轻松松的演讲起来,想春节放鞭炮一样,一气呵成。这时,我看到了评委满意的笑容,老师也高兴的笑了,我提在嗓子眼儿的石头也终于落了地。

回到学校,我天天等、日日盼。终于等到了比赛结果,刘校长满怀喜悦地来到我们教室,喜笑颜开的对我说:“浩鹏,你这次参加的英语口语竞赛得了二等奖。”我简直不敢相信自己的耳朵,惊讶地说:“是吗?”我接过证书,只见最上面写着四个金黄的苍劲有力的大字“荣誉证书”。这时我心花怒放抑制不住内心的喜悦,像一只快乐的小鸟飞回了家,把奖状高高举起,让爸爸妈妈们看,他们异口同声的夸我“孩子,真棒!”

这次英语口语竞赛,至今使我难以忘怀,是将成为我终生美好的回忆,也将是我终生的激励!

今天,我早早吃了午饭,12:30就来到了越溪实验小学,参加下午1;00举行的第八届“时代杯”英语风采大赛。来了以后,我们才知道,1:20才是真正动笔参赛的时间,参赛证上的竞赛时间1:00实际上是进考场的时间。来早了,我就多复习了一遍。

1:20开始做竞赛题了。竞赛题分听力、基础运用、能力提升、图形推理四个部分。我按照要求,先做笔试部分。我先在试卷上把一个一个题目做好,然后一边检查,一边把答案誊到答题卡上,在小括号格子里填涂。

这次竞赛的试题还是有一定难度的,主要是有些词语既没教过,也从没接触过。实在没办法了,只好按照上下文的意思进行推测了,有的还真给我推测对了呢。2:20分,我们开始进行听力测试。听力要报题,我仔细把每道题都都听得很认真、很清楚,答题有很大把握。
