Little Women Book Review (Part 1)

Little Women is a timeless classic written by Louisa May Alcott. The story revolves around the lives of the four March sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy – as they navigate the challenges of growing up during the American Civil War. This heartwarming and inspiring novel touched my heart in many ways.

One of the aspects that struck me the most was the strong bond of sisterhood portrayed throughout the book. Despite their differences in personalities and ambitions, the March sisters always stood by each other's side, offering support and love unconditionally. This depiction of sisterhood resonated with me personally as I have siblings of my own, and it reminded me of the importance of family and the power of unity.

Another theme that stood out to me was the emphasis on the value of education and personal growth. Each sister had her own dreams and aspirations, and the book beautifully showcases their journey towards achieving their goals. Jo, in particular, inspired me with her passion for writing and determination to pursue her dreams. Her character taught me the importance of perseverance and the belief that hard work can lead to success.

Furthermore, the portrayal of gender roles and societal expectations during that time period was thought-provoking. The March sisters defied the norms and expectations placed upon them, pursuing their own paths rather than conforming to society's standards. This message of independence and empowerment was refreshing and empowering, even in our modern context. It reminded me that it is essential to stay true to oneself and follow one's own passions, regardless of societal pressures.

The writing style of Louisa May Alcott further enchanted me. Her detailed descriptions and vivid imagery brought the characters and their world to life. I found myself emotionally invested in the story, feeling the characters' joys and sorrows as if they were my own. Alcott's ability to evoke such strong emotions through her words is truly commendable.

In conclusion, Little Women is a heartwarming and captivating novel that explores themes of sisterhood, personal growth, and defying societal expectations. Louisa May Alcott's masterful storytelling and memorable characters make this book a timeless classic. It left me feeling inspired and reminded me of the importance of family, perseverance, and staying true to oneself. I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages.

Little Women Book Review (Part 2)

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott is a literary gem that continues to captivate readers even after so many years since its publication. The story of the March sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy – takes place during the American Civil War and offers valuable lessons about love, sacrifice, and the complexities of life.

One of the aspects that struck me about this book was the realistic portrayal of the characters. Each sister had her own distinct personality, flaws, and strengths, making them relatable and human. Alcott's ability to create characters that feel so real is a testament to her remarkable storytelling skills. I found myself emotionally invested in their lives, laughing and crying along with them as they faced various challenges.

Moreover, the themes of love and sacrifice are beautifully woven throughout the narrative. The March sisters often put their own desires aside to support and care for one another, emphasizing the importance of selflessness and unconditional love within a family. Their sacrifices reminded me of the power of love and the strength that comes from supporting one another during difficult times.

Another aspect that stood out to me was the exploration of societal issues, such as poverty and the impact of war. The March family, though not wealthy, displayed resilience and resourcefulness in the face of adversity. This portrayal of resilience and the importance of community support resonated with me deeply. It reminded me of the strength that can be found within oneself and the power of unity in overcoming hardships.

Additionally, the book offers valuable insights into the complexities of life and the importance of personal growth. The March sisters each go through their own individual journeys, facing both triumphs and setbacks. Their experiences taught me about the significance of learning from mistakes, embracing change, and finding one's own path in life.

In conclusion, Little Women is a timeless masterpiece that explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the complexities of life. Louisa May Alcott's masterful storytelling and realistic characters make this book a must-read for all. It left me with a profound appreciation for the power of family, the importance of selflessness, and the beauty of personal growth. I highly recommend this novel to readers of all ages who are seeking a thought-provoking and heartwarming story.

Today, i have read the book "Little Women" .The deepest feeling is it is simple to be happy! Happiness is kinship, friendship, health, labor and peace of mind. Having it, people just feel normal. But when losting it, people perhaps will find that it can not be replaced by anything in the world! Ordinary is great!

Every night before going to sleep, I want to carry it to read, lying in the bed, holding it in my hand until falling asleep. The book is still next to me when I wake up the next moring. This is what I want. This is the first book I love so much to read, because I like to look into the past from the childhood, I can find my own shadow, my own growth process. In the book, I can forget the sadness as a child can put it all behind.

This book was written by the United States Louisa·May·Alcott. This book can be regarded as a family biography to read, but it is not about the adults' struggle but the growth of the children, telling them how to become mature from a naive, from vulnerable to suffering, from urgent to patient, from self to others. The book is a lively splash everywhere, the young man's innocence, purity, courage and vision for the future. They are really impressive. They four characters were completely different. Meg was16, Jo was15, Beth was14 , Amy was12. Meg was beautiful, attractive. And she envied dress. She did tuloring to help the family. Joe had a eautiful hair, and she was always running around in circles and had a strong personality.Though she often maked things worse, had a bad temper and did something like a boy,she was sincere. She loved writing and she helped family by doing nursing.

Beth, loved by most people, was very cute and shy.She was very quiet and never be angry. There was no wonder that we all call her "little baby." She liked to curl up in her own happy world. And only when she met people she trust in,she would be pulled out timid.Se was very sympathetic to the dolls, and she treated them as small baby by helping them make up new clothes. At the same time, she loved playing the piano. She was very easy to satisfy.

Amy, was the smallest among their four, looked like a young lady. She wanted o be an artist and become the world's greatest master. Lawrence was 16 years old.he lost his parent when he was a little boy.He was brought up by his grandfather. Not willing to lost his grandson,Mr Lawrence avoided him doing a lot of things he want to do.So he lived a sad and unhappy life with his grangfather and were not on good terms with each other before he knew those four girls. He had a lot of money, however,he did not show it off.He was very enthusiastic and he became a sunny boy. Mrs Marchi was a wise mother. She allowed her children to experience through the joys and sorrows of life and hoped her children to experience their lives instead of copy the history of generation. She hoped her children would be beautiful, talented, kind, loved and respected by the people. She would encourage children. She loved their country. To their motherland ,she encouraged her husband to the war and never regreted it.She had been learning how to set an example to the children. At first, every little girl had their share of vanity. However, after going through a lot, they gradually growed. They understand what is true happiness.

Each of them had their own castles in the air and their little aspirration. In their view, family was their place of growth and refuge. They would listen carefully to their mother, would use their skillful hands and clever brain to creat the beauty of life and would beautify their soul. Some people said, four sisters growing up was like a richest interesting educating poem. The author used normal language to show us the great humam family, friendship and love.

In the eyes of four sisters, the happiest thing was they could live with those who they loved forever.Indeed,In my opinion, this is also my greatest happiness. They were very hard woking and they helped the home to support the family by doing various things. They were busy but they did not lack of the luster of life.Once each of them had been lost, regreted, and puzzled, but anyway, they grew up.They were innocent and had no bad opinions. After experiencing a series of trials and life to death, they gradually said goodbye to their childish and became mature. They helped each other ,loved each other, and became a group of little women who could stir up the burdens of life. Their smile is in my mind, remembering me to be strong,to have a pure heart.T

hey also tell us how to deal with family relationship. From them,I think I have to learn to be strong, learn how to be content and learn how to cherish what we have.Do not undershand their valuable after we lose them.We should treat others sincerely and regard every parting as forever parting.Just as the saying goes,do not cry for the past meteors,or you will miss the others. We should be careful to find others advantages. We should have hopes to the future and set our own goals and then strive to reach them.Allow ourselves to be an independent, strong and motivated people.Just be a real little woman!

小妇人读后感英文版 篇四

(三)

Little Woman was written by American female writer Alcott. After reading this novel, I have some opinions about these four women.

The novel described four sisters in the March family; they were kind to each other and love each other, hardworking, stayed with neighbor Laurence friendly. Different disposition girls had found their own happy through their own goodness and industrious. The novel has not a fluctuation plot and fascinating suspension in a play, but the author described the happiness in March family with the simple language. Their good and kind, loyalty to love and family has left me a deep impression. The author only described very ordinary detail in the life, but reveals the love to the happy life expectation everywhere.

Although these girls born in a poor family, but they all had the positive attitude to any matter, the novel had laid emphasis on their inpiduality and the dignity, but also has displayed their self-expression restraint. Independently was these four girls’s common characteristic, they always keep discovering their own shortcoming and correct it as soon as possible which worth our learning. Look we, some people always make mistakes, but they always think that it is a small mistake; they don’t need to notice it, let it go. If every one like them, the society will become very awful, no rule can limit people’s behaviors, they can do anything they like.

These four girls are very different, let me introduce them, Meg, the eldest of the four, was sixteen, and very pretty, being plump and fair, with large eyes, plenty of soft, brown hair, a sweet mouth, and white hands, of which she was rather vain. Fifteen-year-old Jo was very tall, thin, and brown, and reminded one of a colt, for she never seemed to know what to do with her long limbs, which were very much in her way. She had a decided mouth, a comical nose, and sharp, gray eyes, which appeared to see everything, and was by turns fierce, funny, or thoughtful. Her long, thick hair was her one beauty, but it was usually bundled into a net, to be out of her way. Round shoulders had Jo, big hands and feet, a flyaway look to her clothes, and the uncomfortable appearance of a girl who was rapidly shooting up into a woman and didn't like it. Beth, as everyone called her was a rosy, smooth-haired, bright-eyed girl of thirteen, with a shy manner, a timid voice, and a peaceful expression which was seldom disturbed. Her father called her "Little Tranquility," and the name suited her excellently, for she seemed to live in a happy world of her own, only venturing out to meet the few whom she trusted and loved. Amy, though the youngest, was a most important person in her own opinion at least. A regular snow maiden, with blue eyes, and yellow hair curling on her shoulders, pale and slender, and always carrying herself like a young lady mindful of her manners. What the characters of the four sisters were we will leave to be found out.

I love Meg for her being glad to impoverish for love, not enticed by the money. She did family teacher to help the family. I love Jo for her free and easy, likes her for the steadfast determination which she struggles for dream. She earns living expenses with aunt March and writes articles for the newspaper to gain the payment to increase the daily necessities to the family. I love Beth for her tranquil characteristic, doing anything without any complain. Like her good personal character which always considers for others, she loves music and feels shy with strangers, so she always does some housework with her mother at home. I also love Amy for her strong desire; she regard supporting the poor people as her own faith. She was interested in sketch. Though their idea and the destiny are various, they had all found their own love.

In their eyes, the family was not only the place of growth but also the holy refuge. They liked to hear their mother's instruction carefully; they created games by their clever brain and hands which can beautify the mind. Four sisters' growth courses were as if an interest education poem. The author had shown us the humanity's great dear ones such as friendship and love with ordinary language. In my opinion, it will be the happiest matter if these four sisters can live with those who they love. They are all good person, if I can live with them, I think my left will become rich and colorful.

An old saying said that “three women can play a performance”, woman always have their own idea, if the idea has formed, and almost no one can change it. When women meet, if one talks her opinion about something, another one will give her opinion to the first one, then the argument will take place, let’s imagine, there were four women in one family, though they are sister, argument can’t avoid, it will be very interesting in the home.()

From the novel, I have learned that we should keep hope for future and make great efforts to seek dream. I also have learned to cherish what you have had such as your parents, time and so on ,we should discover everyone's merit but to take the colored eye to see others shortcoming.

Remember, whatever your goal is, you will get it if you are willing to do!
