Understanding the Effect of Corners 篇一
Corners play a significant role in our daily lives, both in terms of their physical presence and their psychological impact. From the sharp corners of a table to the corners of a room, they have the ability to shape our experiences and influence our emotions. In this article, we will delve into the effect of corners on our perception and explore their potential implications.
One of the key aspects of corners is their ability to create a sense of boundaries and define the space around us. For example, the corners of a room can create a sense of enclosure and give us a feeling of security. On the other hand, sharp corners can also be perceived as threatening or dangerous, as they can cause injuries if we accidentally bump into them. This duality of corners highlights their potential to evoke both positive and negative emotions.
Furthermore, corners can also influence the flow of movement within a space. In interior design, for instance, rounded corners are often used to create a sense of fluidity and encourage a smooth transition between different areas. On the contrary, sharp corners can disrupt the flow and create a sense of obstruction. This is particularly evident in crowded places, where sharp corners can cause congestion and hinder the movement of people.
In addition to their physical impact, corners also have a psychological effect on our perception. Studies have shown that people tend to associate corners with stability and rigidity, while curved or rounded shapes are associated with softness and flexibility. This association can influence our preferences and choices in various contexts. For example, in product design, rounded corners are often used to create a more inviting and approachable appearance, while sharp corners may convey a sense of precision and professionalism.
Moreover, corners can also influence our social interactions. In social psychology, the term "cornered" is often used to describe a situation where someone feels trapped or under pressure. This feeling can arise when someone is backed into a corner, both figuratively and literally. This suggests that corners can have a profound impact on our social dynamics and can potentially shape the way we communicate and interact with others.
In conclusion, corners have a multifaceted effect on our perception and experiences. They can shape our emotions, influence the flow of movement, and even impact our social interactions. Understanding the significance of corners can provide valuable insights in various fields, from architecture and design to psychology and sociology. By paying attention to the effect of corners, we can create spaces and environments that are conducive to positive experiences and interactions.

Understanding the Effect of Corners :Adsorption of Fluids in Three Different Shapes of Nanopores
Adsorption of nitrogen, hydrogen and methane in square and rectangular nanopores of various sizes has been studied bv grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations(GCMC).By comparison of three kinds of potential models,it was found that the site-site model was more rational, which Was therefore used in the work.Adsorption behavior of fluids in square, rectangular and cylindrical pores at T=77 K Was compared.Prewetting was found in the comers of the square and rectangular pores, which is absent in the cylindrical pores.Adsorption of hydrogen and methane in the three kinds of pores was compared.Among them, the adsorption uptake of hydrogen in the square pore is high.est.especially at low pressures, because the effect of potential superposition in the"corners"makes an important contribution to hydrogen adsorption. The results indicate that the presence of comers has a profound effect upon the adsorption and phase behavior of fluids at low pressures.
